Description
The RapidVap PT-68 is a rotary vacuum evaporator with a diagonal condenser, built by Popular Traders, Ambala for gentle removal, concentration and recovery of solvents. It combines a DC-motor drive (20–200 rpm), a manual lift (100 mm stroke) and a thermostat-controlled water bath (ambient +5 to 95°C), so heat-sensitive samples can be evaporated quickly at low temperature under vacuum.
The diagonal condenser keeps the overall height low, so the unit fits under a standard fume hood or a low laboratory shelf. Condensed solvent drains straight into the receiving flask.
Key features
- Condenser with 1500 cm² cooling surface for efficient solvent recovery
- Evaporating flask range 100–2000 ml (800 ml flask supplied); receiving flask up to 1000 ml
- DC motor drive, 20–200 rpm
- Manual lift (100 mm stroke)
- Thermostat-controlled water bath (ambient +5 to 95°C), 1250 W, ±1°C, 3.5 L, SS 304 inner bath
- 220–240 V, 50 Hz; 840 x 530 x 560 mm, 23 kg
Applications
- Pharmaceutical R&D and quality-control labs (solvent removal after extraction or synthesis)
- Chemistry teaching and research labs at universities and institutes
- Herbal, Ayurvedic and natural-product extraction
- Food, flavour and essential-oil concentration
- Recovery and recycling of solvents such as ethanol, methanol, acetone and hexane
Which model should I choose?
The RapidVap series is available with a diagonal or vertical condenser, a manual lift, and either a thermostat bath (up to 95°C) or a digital PID bath (up to 180°C). If you need a digital PID bath instead, see model PT-69. For a motorised lift and LED rpm display, see the QuickVap PT-65 and PT-66.
Complete set-up
For a complete rotary evaporator system, pair it with our oil-free vacuum pump PT-89 and our recirculating chiller PT-80, which cools the condenser down to -10°C. Together they give faster, cleaner solvent recovery than tap-water cooling.
Warranty, installation and support
Every unit carries a 1-year warranty covering mechanical and electrical working. Most models are ready stock and are dispatched in about 2–3 days. Within India our engineers install the unit at your laboratory and train your staff; spare glassware is supplied whenever you need it. For export orders we provide an installation video and video-call support.
Frequently asked questions
What temperature range does the PT-68 water bath cover?
The thermostat bath works from 5°C above ambient up to 95°C with ±1°C accuracy. For higher temperatures choose the digital PID version.
What flask sizes can I use?
Evaporating flasks from 100 ml to 2000 ml fit the unit; an 800 ml flask is supplied. The receiving flask holds up to 1000 ml.
Which vacuum pump and chiller should I use with it?
Our oil-free diaphragm vacuum pump PT-89 and recirculating chiller PT-80 are matched to this rotary evaporator.
Is the lift motorised?
No, this model has a manual lift with a 100 mm stroke. The QuickVap PT-65 and PT-66 have a motorised lift.
Do you install it and provide a warranty?
Yes. It has a 1-year warranty, and within India we install it at your laboratory and train your staff. Export customers get an installation video and video-call support.
