Frequently asked questions
Who manufactures rotary evaporators in India?
Popular Traders, Ambala (Haryana), has manufactured laboratory equipment since 1942 and makes the QuickVap and RapidVap rotary vacuum evaporators in its own factory. Six models are available with diagonal or vertical condensers, manual or motorised lift, and thermostatic or digital PID water baths.
What is the difference between QuickVap and RapidVap?
QuickVap models (PT-65, PT-66) have a motorised flask lift with a 150 mm stroke, an LED rpm display and a digital PID water bath up to 180°C. RapidVap models (PT-68 to PT-71) have a manual 100 mm lift and come with either a thermostatic bath up to 95°C or a digital PID bath up to 180°C, at a lower price.
Should I choose a diagonal or a vertical condenser?
Both have a 1500 cm² cooling surface. A diagonal condenser keeps the unit low and is easy to clean and handle; a vertical condenser takes less bench width and suits labs with limited space. Performance is similar, so choose by bench space and preference.
What flask sizes does it take?
The evaporating flask can be 100 ml to 2000 ml (an 800 ml flask is supplied) and the receiving flask holds up to 1000 ml. Rotation speed is 20–200 rpm.
What else do I need for a complete set-up?
A vacuum source and a cooling source. We supply the oil-free vacuum pump cum air compressor PT-89 and the chiller refrigerated circulator PT-80 (down to -10°C; the 6.5 L model is enough for one rotary evaporator, the 12 L model runs two), so you can buy the complete rotary evaporator system from one manufacturer.
What warranty do you give?
Every rotary evaporator carries a 1-year standard warranty covering mechanical and electrical working.
How quickly can you deliver?
Most models are kept in ready stock and are dispatched in about 2 to 3 days from order confirmation.
Do you install it and train our staff?
Yes. Within India our engineers install the rotary evaporator on site and give proper hands-on training to your staff. Spare glassware is supplied whenever you need it.
Do you export rotary evaporators?
Yes, we supply to any country we receive an enquiry from. Outside India we do not install on site; instead we provide an installation video and video-call support until your unit is running.
Can government departments buy through GeM?
Yes. Popular Traders is a registered seller on the GeM portal, and we are ISO 9001:2015 certified, ZED Silver certified and MSME (Udyam) registered.
